The Acurast Association Announces Launch Date for Token Generation Event (TGE) and Looks Ahead to Next Steps
Acurast Canary has seen excellent traction since its launch, with over 133,000+ phones onboarded to date, clocking more than 432 million on-chain transactions and running over 40,000 deployments across various production use cases, providing unprecedented compute value in decentralization and confidentiality.
While the Acurast Canary continues to thrive, we now set our sights on the next chapter: the upcoming Acurast Mainnet launch and the Acurast TGE. With great anticipation, we are thrilled to share a long-awaited milestone, the official announcement of the Acurast TGE date, a defining step forward on our journey:
The planned date for Acurast’s Token Generation Event (TGE) is November 17, 2025.
We acknowledge the delay from the initial Q3 projection. The decision to adjust the timeline has been made after extensive coordination with various external partners, including exchanges, ecosystem collaborators, and launch partners, to ensure the best possible launch.
We have only one chance to launch, and we’re making it extraordinary. This planned date isn’t just about timing; it’s about unleashing Acurast at its absolute best. The additional time allows us to expand cross-chain integrations, battle test crucial mechanics like staked compute on the canary net, and most importantly, deliver a launch that sets a new standard. This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. More details will follow soon.
Looking ahead, we’ve already achieved some significant milestones for this TGE, and we have more in the planning:
1. Decentralizing Block Propagation – In Progress
Onboarding Collators to further decentralize Acurast’s infrastructure for block propagation outside of Collators run by the Acurast Association. The Collator onboarding program focuses on including Collators and testing the setup with up to 18 Collators on Acurast Canary before Mainnet Launch.
The Collator Program is currently in progress, and onboarding additional Collators.
2. Activation of Benchmarked Rewards – Completed
Moving from the Acurast Bootstrapping campaign, which distributed the same amount of cACU rewards to all onboarded phones, to a fairer system where the phone’s hardware is benchmarked for an overall score: higher-performing phones now receive greater rewards compared to lower-performing phones, reflecting the added value they bring to the network. In turn, this allows lower-performing phones to compete for deployments that don’t require the latest and greatest compute power.
The Acurast Bootstrapping campaign has been sunset, and Benchmarked Rewards have been introduced on September 4th.
3. Code Freeze (Completed) and Security Audit – In Progress
The code for the Acurast protocol and its components has been frozen, and the security audit in collaboration with Monethic is underway. A preliminary report has been delivered and is currently under review.
4. Activation of Staked Compute – Imminent
The last major feature, Staked Compute, is designed to secure and strengthen Acurast’s decentralized compute. Incentives are aligned by letting providers commit hardware and stake tokens, with delegators backing them – to secure a more reliable network. Inflation from the Acurast Mainnet will be distributed to the staked compute pool, treasury, onboarding compute pool and Collators. Soon, users will be able to test Staked Compute on Testnet, before locking in on Mainnet.
The Activation of Staked Compute on Acurast Canary is imminent, more details on Staked Compute here.
5. cACU Conversion
Since the inception of Acurast, it was clear for the main contributor team that the only way a decentralized network can thrive and deliver on its promise is with a strong community. With Acurast Canary, compute providers are rewarded in cACU for their early contributions and commitment.
Now with the upcoming launch of ACU, early contributors and cACU holders have the exclusive option to convert to ACU through the mechanism described here.
The development of the conversion mechanism is on-going and will be available on hub.acurast.com soon.
6. Cloud Rebellion Airdrop – Impending
Rebels have gathered for the Cloud Rebellion and are one of the main drivers for making the Acurast community what it is today. Rebels have completed quests, referred friends, climbed the leaderboards and received MIST ☁️ (points). Therefore, the Acurast Association will distribute 10,000,000 ACU tokens, allocated to members of the Cloud Rebellion, based on their MIST ☁️ amounts. More exciting quests and opportunities to collect additional MIST will be announced in the coming weeks.
7. CEX/DEX – Impending
ACU will become transferable with the Mainnet launch. By making the ACU token accessible on Decentralized exchanges across ecosystems, and partnering with Centralized exchanges for the TGE, it will be possible to onboard more users across the world to Acurast’s values of decentralized compute. More details on all the selected launch partners will be shared closer to the planned launch date.
We are immensely excited to see the move from Acurast Canary phase into our Token Generation Event this November, at a time when the need for decentralized compute is growing faster than ever. Rebels, we can’t wait to launch ACU together with you.
